Gail A. Izumi

Gail Izumi has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Medical Technology and has been with USC for the past 20 years, ten of which she has been a medical researcher in the field of Alzheimer’s disease and strokes.

She joined the ARU Core Research Laboratory in 2001 where she coordinates the receiving, processing and analyzing of the specimens and when necessary, distributes the samples to specialized laboratories. Gail is also responsible for the maintenance and cataloguing of all the specimens stored in the Core Laboratory.

She enjoys working with the people in the lab and meeting with the patients. She finds working in the medical field very challenging and rewarding, especially when the results from the studies that we do can improve people’s lives.

Her hobbies are reading, listening to music, and visiting National Parks.
