If you are 45-59 years of age, less than 6 years past menopause and have a uterus   and do not have heart disease or diabetes, you may qualify for an important women’s  health study. APPT is designed to study the effects of bazedoxifene/estrogen on hardening of the arteries (from which 1 in 2 women die of), memory loss and other postmenopausal health issues in a carefully monitored setting. Bazedoxifene/estrogen is an FDA-approved therapy that does not contain progestin or progesterone used in many studies that you may have heard about.

Free examinations include:

  • Noninvasive ultrasound scanning of the neck arteries

  • Cholesterol measurements

  • Blood chemistries and cell counts

  • Mammograms

  • Pelvic examinations

  • EKGs

  • Blood pressure monitoring

  • Cognitive (memory, thinking, mental function) testing
