APPT is designed to study the effects of bazedoxifene/estrogen on hardening of the arteries (from which 1 in 2 women die of), memory loss and other postmenopausal health issues in a carefully monitored setting. Bazedoxifene/estrogen is an FDA-approved therapy that does not contain progestin or progesterone used in many studies that you may have heard about.
